    Preparing the parts

    Preparing the parts

The neck is planed and cut with a bevel to make the head of the instrument which we add a veneer. Back and top are jointed and planed 3.5 mm thick, so are the ribs to 2mm.

    Set up

    Set up

Two pieces of bone are set in the head and bridge slots. String grooves are done on the nut. Machineheads and strings are set up to get the best compromise between sound quality and ease of play.

    Choosing the wood

    Choosing the wood

After making up a plan, each part of the instrument is scrupulously choosen. The top is out of spruce or cedar. so are the struts, bracings used to reinforce the structure. Back and sides are made out of hard wood with a high density. They make up the body of the instrument. Neck is in mahoganny or cedro, fingerboard in ebony and sadles, where the strings come, are made of bone.
